We are excited to announce our plans to implement submetering for utility costs for Apartments in the near future. This initiative aims to create a fair and transparent method for sharing heating expenses between the management and our valued tenants. Below are the key details regarding how the submetering process will work and how we will split the costs with tenants:

What is Submetering? Submetering involves installing individual meters for each apartment unit to accurately monitor and record the amount of heating energy consumed by each resident. This technology allows us to track energy usage on a per-unit basis rather than relying on a flat rate or estimation for all tenants.

We will keep you informed throughout the installation process and provide additional information on when the submetering will be implemented. As we finalize our approach, we will hold an informational session to address any questions or concerns about this change.

 As winter weather sets in, be sure to wear Yaktrax or similar traction devices when walking on ice and snow. These devices provide superior grip, helping to prevent slips and falls. Stay safe and enjoy the season with confidence! 

Use Cold Water: Always run cold water while using your garbage disposal. Cold water helps solidify any grease or fats, making them easier to grind and preventing clogs.

Feed in Small Batches: To avoid overloading the disposal, add food waste in small amounts. This helps maintain the efficiency of the grinder.

Avoid Hard Materials: Do not put hard items like bones, fruit pits, or metal objects into the disposal, as they can damage the blades.

Avoid Fibrous Foods: Be cautious with stringy vegetables like celery or onion skins. These can tangle around the blades and lead to blockages.

Clean Regularly: Periodically clean your garbage disposal by grinding ice cubes and rock salt together. This helps remove buildup and keeps the blades sharp.

No Grease or Oil: Avoid pouring grease, oil, or fatty foods down the disposal. These can solidify in the pipes and cause clogs.

Flushing the Disposal: After using the disposal, allow it to run for a few seconds with cold water to clear out any remaining food particles.

Use a Disposal Freshener: If needed, consider using a disposal freshener or a mix of baking soda and vinegar to keep it smelling fresh and clean.

Know What Not to Flush: Never put non-food items, such as plastic, glass, or paper, down the disposal, as these can lead to significant damage and clogs. No Pumpkin seeds!
